o What do you love about this film, and why do you want to share it with others?
Morvern Caller is a brilliant early film from director Lynne Ramsay. Not only does it explore the morally gray and complicated characters that she would go on to explore in her later films, it also showcases her expertise in visual storytelling. This film tackles the complexity of grief and loneliness and adult friendship. It’s incredible indie cinema from one of our finest working directors. The ending is an all timer and Samantha Morton, as always, is perfect.
o Why are you a Moxie staffer?
I love cinema and love the films the Moxie shows. I always wanted to be a part of that. It’s amazing to be a member of this crew of cool people and a local business that means so much to me.
o What is your favorite Moxie memory?
Any time we have a big crowd. Having to sit in the front row for a movie you’ve seen a million times just to see it on the big screen with a crowd is what it’s all about.

Emma England's Staff Q & A
o What do you love about this film, and why do you want to share it with others?
I chose "Battle Royale" for the Staff Picks series because it can draw in both film buffs as well as folks who like to watch movies simply for the sake of watching a movie. On one hand it's a stylized, gory, cheesy, and fun dystopian flick; on the other, it is a commentary on how political power can be wielded, violence in Japanese youth culture, and the generational gap.
o Why are you a Moxie staffer?
I am a Moxie staffer because movies are my passion, and I get a deeper love for and understanding of film by getting to work here.
o What is your favorite Moxie memory?
My favorite Moxie memory is when I got to watch "Eyes Without a Face" on the big screen with my loved ones.
o Describe the Moxie in one word.
Unparalleled.
