Programmer's Note:
Q-Entertainment is a project with several goals in mind.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I constantly look for ways to express my love of rainbow family. Action. activism, and advocacy align with my desire to impart joy and more fully embrace this.
Q-Entertainment will work to bring LGBTQIA+ films, as well as those with queer or relevant subtext on a quarterly or more frequent basis to you at low or no cost. Some of these films will feature commentary and/or discussion panels, and we welcome your participation.
My goals are:
- To provide a break to my brothers and sisters who have limited funds or are facing hardships. We will offer them acceptance, affirmation, love, and the togetherness of family.
- The movies will give our allies an opportunity to show support while receiving our heartfelt gratitude.
- And because we want everyone to feel welcome, for those beyond our community, we hope the movies provide insight into lived experiences that, though different than theirs, are still a part of the story of humanity. A chance to understand that though we may walk in a different lane, our paths are indeed quite similar. My hope is to create an opening for dialogue, empathy, growth, and support.
